What is Music Therapy? When did Music Therapy begin as a profession? As a Music Therapist, how can I best advocate for the profession?

Karen Skipper addresses these questions and shares her 30+ years of experience - as an employee and now currently as a private practice music therapist. She has witnessed the field of music therapy grow and evolve and gives us a clear picture of that process.

Being Mortal

How does our culture deal with aging? How do we personally deal with the topic of aging? Mark and Jill have a candid conversation about the topic as addressed in Atul Gawande’s book Being Mortal. Whether you’re in your final stages of life or if you have a loved one who is, take a listen and please comment below, sharing your thoughts on this topic.

And, finally, Mark and Jill talk about the challenges of starting a small business. Imposter syndrome is real, and you will get to hear directly from Jill in her audio journal from when she was first getting her music therapy business started in 2018. It’s raw and emotional, but our hope is that it helps you to know that you’re not alone. We are human. We all face challenges and struggles. Success is finding the courage to ask for help and lean on a community of support.
